To be considered in this hiring round applicants must complete a department online application, and submit copies of the following: 

  • State of Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training certificate of completion
  • Current State of Florida Department of Health Paramedic or EMT license
  • Current BLS and/or ACLS certificates
  • 16-hour emergency vehicle operations certificate

  • Fire Fighter/EMT $46,600
  • Fire Fighter/Paramedic $54,600 

Top Out Pay for Each Grade

  • Firefighter $81,205
  • Engineer $89,326
  • Lieutenant $98,258
  • Captain $118,893
  • Division Chief $143,860
  • Fire Chief $158,246

Pension

  • Vested at (10) ten years
  • Eligible for retirement at 22 years or age 55, whichever comes first
  • DROP plan available at 22 years or age 55, for up to eight years
  • Multiplier: 3% per year (years 1 to 10); 3.5% per year (years 11 to 20); 4% per year (years 21 and up)
