The Finance Department institutes and operates a governmental budgeting system that provides financial information to both external users and internal management.
This information is used to monitor the expenditure of public funds and to ensure that the financial transactions of the City are conducted in accordance with statutory and contractual requirements and City policy.
Distinguished Budget Presentation Award
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the City of Apopka a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its annual budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2016.
This award reflects the commitment of the City and its management in meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
Fiscal year 2017 represents the eleventh time the City has received this award.
